1 August 2012. As they enter the eighth day of fast, doctors from the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital have advised Arvind Kejriwal and Gopal Rai to be taken to the hospital urgently as their health deteriorates. Mr. Kejriwal and Mr. Rai have resisted being taken to hospital for the last few days and Mr. Kejriwal has warned the government “not to try to arrest us and force us to go to hospital. The consequences will be bad”. Four hundred others are also said to be fasting along with the activist. They are campaigning for the strong anti-corruption Lokpal bill. Anna Hazare enters his fourth day of fast today. Team Anna members Prashant Bhushan and Kiran Bedi called on supporters of its anti-corruption movement to prepare for a long struggle ahead up to the 2014 general elections. Anna Hazare has said that he would not talk to any Ministers or Prime Minister Manmohan Singh until his demands were met. Hazare also threatened to return the Padma Bhushan award bestowed on him, Both Mr. Hazare and Mr. Kejriwal apologised for the attack on media persons late on Monday night by alleged India Against Corruption supporters for not giving adequate coverage to the indefinite fast on corruption issues.  Mr. Hazare told his members that if they indulge in violence again he would call of the fast. Nobel laureate Amartya Sen in an interview with CNN-IBN that Team Anna’s reading of corruption or what causes corruption or how it can be removed is wrong, and that they need to look at how the economic system operates. He said that instead of fasting and protesting, one should try and change the systems that provided incentives for corruption. He said that he has a lot of sympathy for Anna Hazare.
