Kripashankar Singh
Mumbai. Mumbai police’s Economic Offences Wing and Special Investigation Team (SIT) today (2 March 2012) raided the houses and office of former city Congress chief Kripashankar Singh and his family, an official said. The raids started late Thursday and continued at the houses in Vile Parle and Bandra, as well as an office in Bandra.
Bombay High Court directed last week, in a public interest litigation case filed by social activist Sanjay Tiwari, Mumbai’s police to register a First Information Report (FIR) and appointed commissioner Arup Patnaik to investigate and to attach all movable and immovable properties held by Singh and his family. The SIT lodged a first information report at Nirmal Nagar Police Station, Khar, on 29 February 2012.
Singh is said to be away in New Delhi to file a case before the Supreme Court, challenging a Bombay High Court order.
