19 April 2012. Scotland Yard detectives arrested three more people for illegal payments to public official by journalists under Operation Elveden. One of them was a member of the armed forces. The arrests came result of information provided to police by News Corporation’s management standards committee. Those arrested are still being questioned by the police.
Operation Elveden is an investigation into allegations of inappropriate payments by those involved with phone hacking to police. It was opened as a result of documents provided by News International to the Operation Weeting investigation.
Operation Weeting is the police investigation into allegations of phone hacking in the News of the World phone hacking affair.
Operation Tuleta is the investigation into alleged computer hacking for the News of the World.
All three operations are led by Head of Organised Crime & Criminal Networks within the Specialist Crime Directorate.
