Kamal Patel
20 July 2012. A single judge bench of Justice M S Siddiqui has issued notices to BJP MLA from Harda and former state minister Kamal Patel as well as the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the Durgesh Jat murder case. Durgesh Jat was killed under mysterious circumstances following a shootout at a farm house in Harda in March 2008. After Durgesh’s father filed a petition, Madhya Pradesh High Court ordered CBI to investigate. After investigation CBI filed charges against Patel and his family member for the murder and destroying of evidence. Patel was sentenced. After he served four years in jail, Harda sessions court acquitted him of all charges. After Durgesh’s father filed another petition challenging sessions court’s acquittal of Patel. It was on this petition Justice Siddiqui ordered Superintendent of Police (Harda) to serve notices on Patel and CBI.
