A senior official at the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, said that a former official of the Ministry of Agriculture is under investigations for allegedly allocating land to people who would authorise him to sell the land and give him a share of profit. A tip-off from a citizen gave rise to the investigations.

On preliminary investigation, the NACC found that the official did have authorisation letters from some people that gave him the authority to sell lands and earn profit. The NACC wants find out whether any other officials were involved with him in this scheme.

The NACC wished to make it clear that it will investigate and take action even if the person concerned was not working in that capacity.
