Four current and former senior employees of The Sun newspaper, the leading newspaper in the UK interms of sales, and a serving policeman have been arrested as part of the investigation into “inappropriate payments” to Metropolitan Police officers and phone hacking.
There have now been thirteen arrests, so far, as part of the investigation and, in total, 32 arrests arising out of the “phone hacking” and related investigations.
The arrests spread the scandal over tabloid wrong-doing – which has already shut down one paper, the News Of The World – to a second Murdoch newspaper.
