Guo Cheng Cheng, 25, a Chinese national, was jailed eight months and fined S$3,000 for overstaying. She caught police attention when a woman reported that Guo had assaulted her on November 22, 2011. When Sergeant Tong Ee Phor and his partner arrived at the scene at New Bridge Road, he asked Guo for her identification papers and noticed that her social visit pass had already expired on June 24, 2010. She then tried to bribe the police officers all the way up to the police station, saying that she would “do anything for him, including offering her body”.
The police officers reported the matter to the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau. Guo, whose father is retired and mother a housewife, will return to China after completing her sentence here.
