29 April 2013. A Cairo high court dismissed charges against Ahmed El-Maghrabi of squandering of public funds and illegally allowing the sale of a state land in the New Cairo city to a real estate company owned by Akram Adada. The sale was said to be at a price much lower than the then market price. Akram Adada fled the country. Akram Adada was also acquitted of corruption charges.
