29 February 2012. In spite of the recommendations of Lokayukta to have The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) investigate Naseemuddin Siddiqui, Mayawati rejected all charges against him.  Mayawati’s govt has ruled out any investigations against Naseemuddin. Naseemuddin is accused having amassed over $20 billion in assets from bribery and corruption.
Naseemuddin Siddiqui is one of Mayawati’s most trusted aides, so much so Mayawati has entrusted him with 18 key departments.
But it is not just the Congress, but even the BJP is slamming Mayawati for protecting a corrupt minister.  Senior BJP leader Uma Bharti said that Mayawati was not allowing a probe against Naseemuddin because  Naseemudin must have threatened to expose Mayawati’s corruption if she orders a probe.
Naseemuddin  played the role of transferring the money made through corruption to Chief Minister’s house, said Senior Leader, Samajwadi Party Shivpal Yadav.
