Saw Chee Keang
5 April 2012. Saw Chee Keang, 58, former Chief Executive of Startech was jailed 6 years by a district court on charges of cheating MayBank and DBS Bank into releasing more than $29 million in credit facilities.
In his judgment the judge said that Saw was the mastermind behind the conspiracy. He pleaded guilty in March this year. His five accomplices have been given stern warning to five years and three months in jail.
Saw absconded to China in June 2003 while on bail. He surrendered in September 2011.
