Mike Manzo
17 April 2012. Mike Manzo helped the state prosecution in the conviction of Democratic whip Mike Veon and Democratic leader Bill DeWeese.
Mike Manzo, DeWeese’s former chief of staff, also was sentenced to three years’ probation, fined $22,000 and ordered to pay $73,000 in restitution. The offence was for paying bonuses out of tax-payers funds to the campaign workers.
Veon, a former Beaver County lawmaker who was tried with three former aides, was convicted in March 2010 of 14 offenses involving the bonuses and other illegal campaign activities. At that trial, Manzo testified that Veon gave the go-ahead to pay the illegal bonuses.
