18 July 2012. Secretary of the State Commission Against Corruption Inam Karimov said today that an action plan for promoting open government and an action plan to combat corruption have been submitted to the Cabinet. After the Cabinet approves the proposals they will be submitted to the Azerbaijani President for approval. Karimov said this at an event dedicated to the activity of the Office for Combating Corruption under the Prosecutor General’s Office in the first half of this year. Karimov hoped for rapid adoption of these proposals which will help combating and increasing transparency in the fight against corruption. “Then, the draft document was divided into two parts,” he added. “Two plans of activity were prepared. The draft documents were prepared by the State Commission Against Corruption.” The representatives of the civil society were involved in developing the action plans, Karimov said. But the NGOs’ proposals were taken into account. The action plans have been already submitted for public discussion.
