Mildred Fernandez
Orlando, Florida. Former Orange County Commissioner Mildred Fernandez was sentenced by Judge Jeffrey Arnold to roughly 22 months in prison after pleading no contest in a public corruption trial. Judge Arnold also said Fernandez must pay thousands of dollars in fines, court costs and investigative costs. She must also serve four years of probation.
Fernandez, 66, pleaded no contest to receiving unlawful compensation for official acts, accepting illegal campaign contributions and filing a false report, but Suarez said she didn’t feel she did anything wrong.
